Belgium
Belgium’s well-developed transport networks and extensive rail links make it even easier to access for Eurostar passengers. Travellers are advised to take as much advantage of the culture as possible; not just its famous beers and chocolates, but also the many other specialities such as moules-frites served in most restaurants, and waffles, especially 'Gaufres de Liège' from the city of Liège. A lot of the cuisine has a French influence giving it rich flavour and individual dishes per region.
Belgian Geography
Belgium has 3 regions and 10 divisions, backed by the Ardennes Forest and its mountains in the southeast, and flat in the northern areas. It is warmer than Germany and the Netherlands, but colder on average than France. It is governed by a federal democracy which is overseen by the Belgian monarchy (a similar structure to England). The headquarters of both NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) and the EU (European Union) are here.
Belgian Language
Due to its two main groups, the Flemings (Flemish-speaking) and the Walloons (French-speaking), Belgium has two official languages.
